This FAQ is created to inform the OpenEdition Title Selection Committee members about the selection process. Here you will find a step-by-step guide as to how you can submit your votes:

Step 1. Click on the collection

Click on the OpenEdition collection to see all the titles that have been submitted.

Note: there are two separate collections for which you can submit your votes: ''OpenEdition Select 2018: HSS Backlist Books'' and ''OpenEdition Select 2018 HSS Frontlist Books''. There are also other collections in the portal such as the ''KU Select 2018'' Collections, these can be ignored for now since they are separate and different from OpenEdition.

Step 2. Review titles

You now see the list of titles submitted for OpenEdition Select and can start reviewing the titles. Just click on each title to see its metadata. If you scroll down, you will see the option to "Vote For" or "Vote Against".  Select the appropriate option and click "Close" at the bottom right of the screen. Once you have clicked on ''Close'' you will see that there will be an "Accepted" or "Rejected" indication next to the title.

Note that you can always go back to the title and "Undo your Vote" if you change your mind. Please make sure to choose either the ''Vote For'' or ''Vote Against'' option to help us understand which titles should, and which should not be included in the final collection.

Step 3. Number of accept votes

You will see at the top right of the screen the number of accept votes you have left. Every ''Vote For'' counts as an accept vote. The number of accept votes is limited to encourage selectors to take a critical look at the submitted titles and reward the most relevant titles with an accept vote.

We hope this step-by-step guide is of use to you. If you have any questions regarding the selection process, you can always get in touch with us directly using the 'chat' option on the bottom right of your screen.
